Privacy policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026. Charka is a product of FOB Digital Labs ("we"). This policy says what Charka does with data when a YouTube channel is connected to it.
The short version
- Charka is self-hosted. At present it runs on a server operated by FOB Digital Labs, for FOB Digital Labs' own channels, and the data it handles stays on that server.
- Charka uses Google data only to do what the channel owner asks: publish and update the owner's own videos, and show the owner how those videos did.
- We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- Before Charka is offered to other people, this policy will be updated to say who runs the server and where each person's data is kept.
What Charka accesses, and why
When a channel owner signs in with Google, Charka asks for these permissions. Each is used only for the purpose given.
- Upload videos (
youtube.upload): to publish a video the owner approved to the owner's own channel. - View the YouTube account (
youtube.readonly): to read the channel's name and the status of videos Charka published, for example whether a video finished processing or is still public. - Manage the YouTube account (
youtube.force-ssl): to add captions, mark a video as made with AI, change the title, description and thumbnail of a video Charka published, update the channel's description and keywords, and create playlists and add videos to them. Charka does this only when the owner presses the matching button. - View YouTube Analytics reports (
yt-analytics.readonly): to read results of the owner's own videos (views, likes, comments, watch time, impressions, click-through rate) and show them to the owner.
Charka does not read private videos that it did not publish, does not read other people's data, and does not post, comment or subscribe on the owner's behalf.
Where the data is kept
- The sign-in tokens Google gives Charka are stored encrypted in Charka's own database, on the server that runs Charka. They are not shared with anyone.
- Results read from YouTube (numbers such as views and watch time) and the record of what was published are stored in the same database.
- Videos, scripts and pictures Charka makes are stored on the same server's disk.
- The dashboard is reached over an encrypted connection through Cloudflare, which carries the traffic to the server. Access to it is limited to approved email addresses.
Who else receives data
To make a video, Charka sends the owner's text (the topic, the script, picture descriptions) to the AI services that were chosen and configured, such as a text, voice or image provider. Each provider's own terms apply. Charka sends them no Google account data and no sign-in tokens. The only other place data goes is Google and YouTube, when Charka publishes or reads results.
Limited Use
Charka's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, data from Google APIs is used only to provide and improve the features the owner asked for, is not transferred to others except as needed for those features or to follow the law, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans except with the owner's consent, for security, or where the law requires.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. The Charka dashboard uses one session cookie to keep the signed-in person signed in, and the access gateway in front of it sets its own sign-in cookie.
Your choices and deleting data
- Disconnect a channel: in Charka, open Advanced, then Channels, and press Disconnect. Charka forgets the sign-in token. Videos already published stay on YouTube.
- Revoke access at Google: open myaccount.google.com/permissions, choose Charka and remove access. This works at any time.
- Delete the stored data: deleting a project in Charka removes its unpublished videos and its files. To have everything we hold about a channel deleted, write to us.
- Ask us: if you believe we hold any data about you, write to charka@fobdigitallabs.com and we will answer and delete what we hold.
Children
Charka is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. A change in what Charka does with Google data would be stated here before it takes effect.
